Over the last several years most laptops have been designed based on the technologies which were extremely ground breaking only a few years before them. This particular period brought about a tremendous improvement in personal computers as a whole so although it did not directly affect laptops alone it did affect all computers.

Basically the overall advancements of laptops in the 1990’s were fairy quick only based on their own time. In other words what seemed to be extremely groundbreaking was not quite at the leaps and bound which have existed since the advent of popular processors breaking the 1GHz speed mark. Once this happened it became apparent that the advancements in laptop technology were going to be dramatic just like the improvements of all personal computers. Since most used laptops under 200 are well over this mark they are fully capable of utilizing their full potential.

Way back when with the advent of affordable laptops with DVD drives things began to really take off as far as how you could look at storing data on disc. This was great because when you began to fill up the hard drive on your laptop computer all you would have to do is burn it to a DVD and then you could delete the old data if you wanted to after it was safely backed up this way.

Before this event you may have found yourself transferring a whole lot of data over the network to other computers whether they were new or used laptops for 200. This could be one of your servers or maybe just a desktop which had a DVD burner in it. At least the idea that you are able to backup your important data is still just as easy to do as either of the two above mentioned methods.
